How a sports bet works
A sports bet is an agreement on the outcome of an event at a stated price. You choose a market, enter a stake and confirm the slip; the return depends on the odds accepted at that moment, not the odds you saw earlier.
Once a bet is confirmed it is normally fixed. Read the slip before you tap confirm, because a mistyped stake or a wrong selection is usually treated as a valid bet under the rules of most sportsbooks.

Common bet types
Most sportsbooks group their markets into a handful of familiar types. The names vary slightly, so open the market rules if a label is unclear.
| Bet type | What you are predicting |
|---|---|
| Match result (1X2) | Home win, draw or away win at the end of normal time |
| Asian handicap | A result after a goal or point adjustment is applied to one side |
| Over/under (totals) | Whether the combined score finishes above or below a line |
| Both teams to score | Whether each side scores at least once |
| Outright | The winner of a league, tournament or season |

Accumulators and multiples
An accumulator links two or more selections into one bet. The odds multiply, which raises the potential return, but every leg must win for the bet to pay. One losing selection and the whole stake is lost.
As a worked example, three selections at 1.80 each combine to roughly 5.83. A RM10 stake would return about RM58.30 if all three win, and nothing if any one of them loses.

Cash-out and early settlement
Some sportsbooks offer a cash-out figure that lets you settle a bet before the event ends. The amount reflects the current odds and usually includes a margin, so it is often lower than the fair value of your position.
Cash-out may be suspended during key moments such as a penalty or a video review, and it is not offered on every market. If Siti88 shows a cash-out button, treat it as optional rather than guaranteed.

Before your first sports bet
Run through these checks each time you place a wager, not only the first time.
- Confirm the odds format shown on the slip and change it if you prefer another
- Read how the market settles, including extra time, abandonments and void rules
- Check the minimum and maximum stake for that market
- Decide a spending limit for the session before you look at live odds
- Keep a simple record of stakes and results so losses do not go unnoticed
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What happens to my bet if a match is postponed?
Most sportsbooks void bets on matches that do not start within a stated window, returning the stake. The exact window and any exceptions are set out in the betting rules for that sport.
Is a draw-no-bet market the same as a handicap of zero?
In effect, yes. Both return your stake if the match is drawn and pay out only if your chosen side wins.
Can I edit a bet after it is confirmed?
Generally no. A confirmed bet stands as accepted, so any change has to be made before you submit the slip.
