Using Safari
Safari is the default browser on iOS and supports adding web pages to the home screen. Chrome and other iOS browsers can also add shortcuts on recent iOS versions.
In Settings, under Safari, keep the website warning option switched on to get alerts about known phishing pages.

Saving a home-screen icon
The icon opens the site full screen, without the browser toolbar.
- Visit the official domain in Safari and confirm the address bar shows it.
- Tap Share, the square with an upward arrow.
- Choose Add to Home Screen and edit the name if you wish.
- Tap Add and use this icon whenever you visit.

Checking any app listing
Do not assume an App Store listing with a similar name belongs to the operator. Check that the official domain links to it and that the developer name matches the operator details published on the site.
Be wary of instructions asking you to install a configuration profile or enterprise certificate. These give wide control over your device and are rarely needed.

iOS settings worth checking
These settings help keep your account private on a shared or family device.
- Face ID or a strong passcode for unlocking
- Screen Time limits for the browser or the home-screen icon
- Notifications switched off for sites you do not want alerts from
- iCloud Keychain or a password manager instead of notes
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Why does the home-screen icon ask me to sign in again?
iOS keeps web-app data separate from Safari, so you may need to sign in once inside the icon itself.
Can I limit how long I spend on the site on my iPhone?
Yes. Screen Time lets you set a daily limit for a website or the home-screen icon, alongside any account limits.
Is it safe to play over public Wi-Fi?
It is better to use mobile data or a trusted network, because public Wi-Fi can be monitored or spoofed.
